Now that I have kids of my own I can only image what they will tell me. If they ever use any of the following lines, I hope they know that they can not fool me. Like my brother once said, ‘you can’t bullshit a bullshitter’ lol.
My famous lines:
I’ll do it later
Now I know why my mom was so irritated when I’d say this. What I’ve learned is that when someone says ‘I’ll do it later’ more than likely it will never happen. Now I’m the one who’s irritated. As they say, ‘don’t put off tomorrow what you can do today’.
I will
You got this right! ‘I will’ probably means you won’t cause you’ll forget. Get an organizer or smartphone and right it down. ‘I will’ means nothing until ‘you do’. What it really means is that I will be the one to do cause you won’t. I guess this is what is meant by getting the short end of the stick.
I’ll pay you back
Right again, you will never ever back your parents back when they most need it. Always try to pay your debts back as soon as possible. This commitment will mean a whole lot more when you grow up and you start compiling debt. Don’t do it! Your integrity, reputation, and more importantly your credit score will rely on how good you can pay back. Do as I say, not what I do.
