Sophia Lap
Somehow by God’s grace we were able to get through the first month with Sophia. The first two weeks were ok, but the last two were hard. She became very colicky and she got a cold from Jasmine. We also figured her internals are still developing, which is the reason for her discomfort.
Sophia didn’t have a fever. She had a good appetite and her bowels are very very good lol. Now that we’re into our second month and already we are seeing improvements. She’s beginning to notice her surroundings and for the last two nights, she has slept through the night (knock on wood).
There is no magic formula. We just gave her Colic Tablets and used saline and a syringe bulb to clear her nose. For extra measure we gave her infant pain medicine. We don’t remember Justice and Jasmine being so fussy.
Justice and Jasmine have finally gotten used to Sophia, but they still don’t see her as a person lol. They still play loudly when Sophia is sleeping. But when one or the other is asleep, then walk and play quietly. But when Sophia is sleeping, it’s like out of sight, out of mind.
We still have a long way to go. People say, ‘enjoy them while they are young’. The thing is, I am not young lol. I want them to grow up quickly, while I relatively young’ish. I have hope for the future. My hope is that Justice and Jasmine will start pulling their weight and helping us around the house.
For them it’s 42 months down, 174 to go lol.
