Where Has The Time Gone – Part II

The last thing you know I was writing about New Year’s resolutions.  Next thing you know, it’s nearly May.  May for God’s sake!  Since my last post I have been busy with work, the kids, and trying to get my life in order.  That should have been my real resolution – Getting my life in order.

First thing’s first.  Finances.  That’s the priority.  Without a job, then we cannot feed our family, put a root over our heads, and clothes on our backs. Luckily for us Ebru switched jobs from TJMaxx to Franklin Templeton.  While it seems like a wash right now because our babysitter working more hours and Ebru’s commute being 4 times farther, in the long runit will pay off.  Otherwise, we are trying much harder to manage our bills and expenses.

Health.  It is something we’re always conscious about and this time we’re going to do something about it. At work we are participating in the Global Corporate Challenge. The goal is to walk 10,000 steps a day! That’s about 4-5 miles a day.  We suspect that it will be a family event most days.  We’ll see how the kids keep up.  So far, I have been able to maintain my goal weight (sorta kinda), which has been the hardest part about dieting.  Wine tasting and eating tapas type of food is not helping lol.

Schooling.  Speaking of the kids Justice and Jasmine will be starting school for the first time this year.  We hope that we have taught them well enough and socialized them enough to get by in school.  While it is only for half days, it’s still time away from home. Right now our babysitter comes to our home so the kids never really leave the safety and comfort of their home.  Sophia, on the other hand, has a long way to go until she goes to school.  God watch over them.  They are still so young and innocent.

Staycation.  We haven’t traveled long distance yet.  We are hoping that we can save enough money to take a trip before the kids go to school.  For now it’s all about staycation at home.  For now that are ok with it.  When the weather is good, we hang out in the backyard and this gives the kids a whole new scenery.  Honestly, we’d rather be on a beach vacation such as Hawaii.

Here are some recent pictures of the kids. [onedrivefile id=”file.7fd05406ed85f8e7.7FD05406ED85F8E7!5424″] [onedrivefile id=”file.7fd05406ed85f8e7.7FD05406ED85F8E7!8978″] [onedrivefile id=”file.7fd05406ed85f8e7.7FD05406ED85F8E7!8377″] Part I can be found here.
